May 26 Hip Hop crew classes will be held 11:00-1:00. No creative movement, no Combination Ballet/Hip Hop, and no Jazz.

May 28 No acro classes, Contemporary will be held at the airport.

Class Descriptions

Creative Movement: Ages 3.5-5

Creative Movement is a joyful way for children to explore movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy, stimulate imagination and promote creativity. Creative movement uses body actions to: communicate an image, communicate an idea or communicate a feeling.

Acro (Ages 5-18)

Acrobatics teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline & concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance, & contortion tricks. Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility, & strength.

Tumbling (Ages 3-5)

Tumbling is basically acro, described above, but more playful for the pre-school age.

Ballet/Hip Hop Combo Ages 5-7

In this 75 minute class Children will be introduced to both Ballet and Hip Hop dance techniques.In the first half of the class dancers learn about placement and ballet vocabulary through barre work, progressions across the floor and center exercises. The second half will be focused on moving percussively to a variety of rhythms while playing with isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements.

Ballet 1-3 Ages 7-19

Ballet classes are offered from a beginner level to advanced. Students are taught proper body placement, body alignment, barre and center floor work, along with across the floor combinations. Beginner classes introduce vocabulary, proper alignment, and classical ballet technique. Advanced classes include adagio and allegro work, and combinations using balance, strength, and style. In addition Pointe is offered. All students are urged to study ballet, as it is the foundation of all other dance styles and facilitates further success in these disciplines.

TapAges 7-99

Tap is a style involving rhythm, dynamics, and varying sounds. Tappers will have a graduated warm-up to loosen their ankles and knees for proper execution of skills, across the floor progressions and have center floor work to learn and perfect new skills.

Hip Hop Ages 7-99

Hip Hop classes combine street dance with funk and jazz, similar to what you would see in televised dance performances or music videos. Students will learn the importance of isolations and dynamics to execute pop-and-lock and funk movements.

Contemporary Ages 11-19

Contemporary classes focus on allowing the dancers to express themselves and create unique visions through movement. Jazz, ballet and lyrical techniques provide a foundation for the contemporary style. Class curriculum consists of warm-up with stretching and isolations, floor work, combinations, and improvisational techniques. As dancers advance through each level the curriculum will become more complex and intricate. nations, and improvisational techniques. MVGlee Ages 10-19

Students in the Glee Club will develop their singing technique and learn how to work in an ensemble to create amazing harmonies. Through work as solo, small group, and ensemble performers, they will develop a unique interpretation of a variety of songs and learn how to command the stage with simple choreography that will enhance children’s awareness the traveling formations and of their physical harmony dancing with others.

Jazz/Lyrical

Lyrical Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.

Step Dance Ages 10-19

Stepping or step-dancing is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps.

Spindrifters and Spin Crew Ages 7-19

Spin Crew  and Spindrifters are  performance teams which gives dancers extra opportunities for performing and competing on and off the island.

Spin Crew requirements- Dancers are required to be registered in a Hip Hop class besides crew.

Spindrifter requirements- Dancers are required to be in a Ballet class and one other dance class. 

Classes 9/18- June 17- Recital June 16-17

Full annual payment %5 discount

Payments due on the 15th of the month there will be a $20 late fee if the payment is more than 5 days late.
