Class Descriptions

Creative Movement  Ages 3.5-5

In this class children discover the many ways their bodies can move through imagination music and props.  They are encouraged to think in and outside  of the box while accomplishing fun and simple tasks individually and with their classmates.

Ballet  1  Ages 7-9

This class will introduce the children to a structured dance class while they learn the fundamentals of Ballet and learn proper placement for a good foundation to any physical activity. With a solid ballet foundation, classically trained dancers can transfer their skills into jazz, modern dance, or any other dance form they might decide to pursue.

Ballet 2  Ages 8-13 This class will be focusing on the Ballet basics, and we will progress to movement combinations that will explore turns and jumps.

Ballet 2 Ages 10 and up This class is for students who have had at least 1 year of ballet training.

Ballet 3  Ages 9 and upThis class is for students who have had at least 2 years of Ballet training, and have mastered skills from general ballet vocabulary. Some students will work on pointe.

Acro 1 Ages 4-9 Children learn to do basic tumbling skills like cartwheels and walkovers and also acro partnering moves.  We will also introduce simple arial moves using rings and trapezes with the supervision of 2-3 instructors.

Acro 2  Based on ability This is a continuation of acro for those  students who have accomplished their one hand cartwheels and walk overs.  We will work on front hand springs, back-walkovers, beam work and advanced tumbling.

Tumbling Ages 2.9-4 This is a fun class for young children to get physical and explore moving their bodies in new and challenging ways. 

Acro 3 Based on ability Students in this class have achieved their back walk-overs and are ready for back handsprings, aerial cartwheels, balance  beam challenges as well  aerial skills on the rings and trapeze. 

Jazz 1  Ages 7-9  Jazz 2  Ages 10-18 This is a fun class where er will focus on strength, flexibility, balance and coordination while dancing in syncopated rhythms to jazz, and pop music.

 Modern 1 Ages 9-13  Modern 2 10-18 While there are many forms  of modern dance we offer a classical approach embracing the old master's theories such as Martha Graham, Jose Limon, and Merce Cunningham. While learning the principles of placement, opposition, level changes, spinal curves and spirals we will practice a broad spectrum of movement that allows for a full expression for performance.

Lyrical  Ages  9-18 Dancers use the skills from both Ballet and modern while dancing to contemporary music.

Tap 1 Ages  6-8   Tap 2  Ages 9-14   Advanced Tap (admitted by ability) Our Tap classes include extensive rhythmic combination training, focusing on rhythm comprehension, tap technique and terminology. Tap Tap is a great way to learn develop musicality and understand quick weight changes. It is fun and making noise is the point! 

Hip Hop 1 ages 5-8 Hip Hop 2 ages 9-13  High School Hip Hop ages 13-18 These classes teach the fundamentals of hip hop movement. They  are upbeat and high energy classes. Stretching, isolations, rhythms, musicality, upper body strength and funky footwork will all be incorporated. Students will learn to memorize choreography by working on a combination each class.

Guitar 101 12-18 This is a group class where students are introduced to basic chords and learn strumming techniques. By the end of the session students should be capable of playing many songs on the guitar.

Ukulele 101 10-18 Ukulele is a great instrument that is a bit easier on the fingers. It is a wonderful instrument to master, and is also a great stepping stone to the guitar.
